Florida Health Insurance --

The U.S House of Representatives today passes a historic health care bill that will allow health insurance coverage to more than 30 million uninsured Americans and also will enforce the end of discrimination by health insurance companies against people with existing medical conditions. This legislation was passed with razor thin margin ? 219 to 212 in the favor of the historic legislation. This legislation was debated for over a year.

This victory was taken with both pride and humility as history was made for USA and progress for the American people. With this the Obama administration has joined the ranks of stalwarts who have established social security and Medicare. This was what change was supposed to look like. This is one of the most ambitious social engineering ? overhauling the US health care system is no mean task.

This legislation when it becomes a law will included previously excluded estimated 32 million Americans and disallows health insurance companies from denying coverage on the basis of existing medical condition. It also aims to reduce federal deficits by over $138 Billion over 10 years.

This legislation makes it mandatory for Americans to carry health insurance and allows for subsidies to those who cannot afford it. It of course mandates poverty levels according to which subsidies would be provided. Senior citizens of America would get a generous benefit and rebates. Dependent children up to 26 years of age could remain on their parent?s health insurance plan.
