|Florida Health Insurance News Flash --
It is quite award for most think thanks and organization that supported the healthcare sector overall so that everybody could have health insurance coverage. Nobody wants to see this reform tie in people into the expensive existing healthcare coverage, but if everybody with pre existing condition would jump into the high risk pool, it would have surely boosted the cost and the government was trying to reduce it to the minimum.
This will mean that about 200,000 people who are a part of more than 30 state high risk insurance pools will end up paying higher premiums. Many of them are on extremely tight budgets, using up the savings and dipping into their pension funds and even borrowing.
The federal high risk pool premiums are expected to cheaper as against the state pool premiums. Some experts even believe that the federal pool is going to be cheaper by 10 percent to 50 percent that the state high risk pool. This also means that the co payments and deductibles will also be lower than the federal pool.
However the catch is that to enjoy the federal coverage the people who are in the state high risk pool need to drop out and go without health insurance for 6 months. As anyone in the high risk pool would know, this is not a smart gamble as it is very risky.
Many experts feel that we need to take the view that this is the first step in providing health insurance to people with pre existing medical condition.
