"What are Ambulatory Services?"

Ambulatory Services: Are defines as "Health care services" provided to patients who are able to return home without an overnight stay in a medical facility. Typically, ambulatory services include preventive, diagnostic, and treatment services provided on an outpatient basis.

This type of Health service is provided to members who are not confined to a healthcare institution. Ambulatory services are often referred to as "outpatient" services, as distinct from "inpatient" service.
