What is: "In-Network":

Refers to the use of providers who participate in the health plan's provider network. Many benefit plans encourage enrollees to use participating (in-network) providers to reduce the enrollee's out-of-pocket expense.

It can also mean a group of doctors, hospital and other health care providers contracting with a health plan, usually to provide care at special rates and to handle paperwork with the health plan.

A patient who receives services from a participating provider in a Managed Care Plan. Generally, patients receiving In-Network services from a participating provider are responsible only for a co-payment.
