An Unusual Influence on Healthcare

While the church is well known as a place to go when seeking answers of the spiritual variety, it may now be the place to go to get counsel on matters of health as well. Some Florida churches are now offering such services as skin cancer and blood pressure checks, clinics on weight loss, diabetes, heart disease, and nutrition. Churches are stepping up to influence their congreation on healthy lifestyles and prevention of chronic diseases. Do you think this is a valid way to combat many of the chronic diseases Americans seem to bring upon themselves due to a lack of healthy lifestyle choices? Will churches be able to influence people’s health as well as their spirituality?

    I didn’t realize all of this was going on in the Church. I guess it is good someone is doing something about prevention and wellness in the marketplace. Health and Wellbeing are for your benefit.
