Florida Homeowners Insurance Gone Bad
Port St. Lucie, Florida. There was a recent article that pertained to Florida homeowners insurance and how the promise for a better was on its way. This is a story about a home located near the Savanna Club Port St. Lucie, Fl. This home is out of the flood zone area. The house was insured by Liberty American Insurance over the past few years.
A letter was received from the homeowners insurance company that my property insurance would not be renewed on my next statement because it is not writing property and casualty insurance policies in the state of Florida.
Upon my research I came to realization that Citizens Insurance Company was the only insurance carrier that would write a policy for my property insurance plan. The answer to this was very simple, so I obtained homeowners insurance from Citizens. Recently I read that the task force appointed by Gov. Charlie Crist has recommended that Citizens property insurance premiums increase by 20 percent. How is that possible when Mr. Crist campaigned to lower homeowners insurance in Florida? How can the cost rise while many of these companies profit. Please give us your thought on this today and comment below.
