Florida Medicare Vote Passes

Most Floridians knew that the Florida Senate committee would approve the new controversial plan for the state-run managed health care system that would have to take over the current system of Medicaid Fee For Service.  The vote was today, and the Florida Medicare vote passed with flying colors.

The Republican Joe Negron, R-Stuart, chairman of the Senate’s Budget Subcommittee on Health & Human Services Appropriations, was the driving force behind this new law.  With a shift of  Health Maintenance Organization would have greatly altered the coverage for hundreds of thousands low-income and elderly Florida residents.  Did you agree with this new Medicare bill approved by your elected officials?

It is highly likely that the Florida House will likely pass its own Medicaid overhaul this week. With Republicans controlling the base camp, some type of Medicaid reform will pass. But that will likely take weeks of negotiation.  Please give us your comments on Florida Medicare insurance in the Sunshine state today!
