Florida Not Investing in its Future

Florida does not seem to be investing in its future, considering how low the state scores on child health and insurance coverage. Healthy children are presumably easier to teach, less costly to raise, more likely to succeed in life and not be in conflict with the law. Florida is ranked 49th in the providing of preventative care to children, which is especially a cause for concern, as many diseases in adulthood can be caught or prevented in childhood. Some feel that investing in children is the role of federal, state, and local government, and that more funds need to be channeled to them via Medicaid and other such programs. Which candidate in the current election will do the most to affect Florida’s children in a positive way?
