Florida Still Examining New Law Aimed at Older Dependents

While a new law has been in motion for quite some time, Florida regulators are still looking at the specifics of this proposal which would allow dependents to remain on their parents’ health issurance policies until the age of 30 in certain cases. State regulators are still examining the impact this law would have on the state and on employers, and are weighing the pros and cons. Some fear that employers will drop their policy and no longer provide coverage to workers due to higher costs, and that less people in the targeted age bracket would benefit than the number of Floridians who would suffer losing coverage. What do you think of this law? Will it hurt more than it helps?
