Florida Wal-Marts Boast an Increase In Insured Employees

A variey of health insurance carriers compete for Wal-Marts business every year.  It just so happens the consumer mega-giant, Wal-Mart, reports that this year’s rate of employees covered by their insurance plan has increased for 2009. The rate of uninsured employees has dropped 25% in the last year, and roughly 40% from 2007 to 2009. As of January, Wal-Mart employees nearly 90,000 people in Florida alone, and approximately 50% of its employees are currently covered by a Wal-Mart sponsored plan. The corporation insures over 1 million employees and their dependents nationwide. Should Wal-Mart be deemed successful for having so many of its associates covered, or should the number be even higher considering the size of the company?
