Fort Pierce Florida Health Insurance News – Recently individuals of the (NAIC), National Association of Insurance Commissioners met to go over health insurance reform and to give suggestions to the government on how they should regulate this new health care bill.  They met in Washington DC this past week to offer their insight to Congress about this large spending bill Barack Obama put into place earlier this year.

There have been in upwards of 40 state health insurance regulators gathered for the NAIC Forum this past In DC.  Mr.Earl Pomeroy (D-ND) gave his opinion to the current situation as he was the last President of the NAIC and currently holds a seat as an insurance commissioner.   Many of the educated regulators learned from Michael S. Barr, Assistant Secretary for Financial Institutions at the U.S. Department of Treasury.  Many other high ranking individuals from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) spoke on the subject as well. 

Groups of individuals that make up the NAIC are getting with their respective senators to offer input on the new bill,  Restoring American Financial Stability Act. Americans and Floridians alike will urge the lawmakers to allow a strong state insurance regulatory system and detail how state regulators helped protect many Florida health insurance policyholders from the worst of the economic hardships of the past year.
