As the debate over the path health insurance reform is to take in our country rages on, many seem to feel that a single payer system remains the best bet for controlling costs and providing coverage to all Americans. Every other industrialized country in the world has this type of system, and spends far less each year for a much greater quality health care system. Many American presidents have tried and failed before, and Obama seems destined to follow suite. The reason? Health Insurance Companies. It seems that in the realm of health care, only the patients should proft, with quality, affordable care. However, the government seems determined to keep the insurance companies happy, continuing to allow them to profit off the suffering of Americans, and compromise the quality of care in order to make a buck. Why can’t America make the move away from allowing health insurance companies run the show so that we can all enjoy healthy lives and good care without having to fight a company which only wants to profit off of us?

   This might be easier said than done. These health insurance companies have become gigantic monstrosities that have gathered so much power and influence that it will be near impossible to throw them out. Its like kicking out the old, but still active and strong grandpa to a retirement home - it has to happen, and hopefully, it will, but there will be a lot of pain, and will involved.
