Individual policies are already limited enough. If you decrease the benefits any more to reduce cost there will be nothing left.

What exactly are these state mandates? Do they only apply to employer sponsored group coverage because individual coverage already has limitations on things like maternity, etc. They need to lay out the specifics instead of dancing around general subject matter.

What's the point of any health insurance if it doesn't cover you when you need it to? You might as well just be putting money in the bank in case of an emergency, rather than pay high premiums for little coverage.

Band-aids only go so far= physically, politically and programatically. As if all of the current choices weren't confusing enough. OK SO IF WE START AT $300/MO IN PREMIUM AND THEN reduce this benfit and that benefit and get down to $200/month what kind of coverage are we left with? Will I need what I've given up. It's more like casino health care. A kind of take your chances approach all in the name of affordability. Surely we can do better.

Yeah, I'm really not sure what to make of this entire state mandate thing. I'd like to revisit it once this law is passed and companies are playing with it more.
