Health Insurance News On Health Markets, Inc.
Financial survey company A.M. Best Co. has downgraded the financial the strength of Health Markets rating to B++ (Good) from A- (Excellent) and issuer credit ratings to “bbb+” from “a-”. Health Markets is comprised of such low end companies as, The MEGA Life and Health Insurance Company, The Chesapeake Life Insurance Company (both of Oklahoma City, OK) and Mid-West National Life Insurance Company of Tennessee (North Richland Hills, TX), all subsidiaries of HealthMarkets, Inc. (HealthMarkets) (North Richland Hills, TX). A.M. Best also has downgraded the ICR to “bb+” from “bbb-” of HealthMarkets. The outlook for all ratings is negative. I’m pretty sure the downgrade is due to the horrible products this company offers. Consumers are going to be in a safer place when this company crumbles. Greed is the root of all evil and they might be the KINGS.

It is about time these crooks get a closer look. They have been ripping off american consumers since the 1980s. There is justice in this world..

I have heard horror stories about this company for years. I think their rating was based on life insurance and not health insurance. Reguardless I agree with Jackie, they are getting what they deserve. I just hope they aren’t bought out and kept alive with the same level of coverage that at best is horrable!
