Illegal Immigrants Affect Health Insurance Programs
A recent study shows that illegal immigrants are having children at a rate much faster than was previously understood, and the majority of these children are being born into poverty. This is having a major impact on the number of citizens without access to health care, with the largest percentage being children. Because any child born in the united states is automatically granted citizenship, this is resulting in complications regarding policies aimed at the still-illegal immigrant parents. Public health care programs aimed at helping the millions of children in the U.S. who cannot afford health insurance are likely to be overburdened by the steadily increasing numbers of children born into citizenship. What should the policy be regarding this issue?
