Insurance Goes Retail

BCBS has unveiled something new in the Jacksonville, FL Town Center. The large shopping center, composed of stores like Target and Dick’s Sporting Goods, as well as high end retailers, will now include Florida Blue. The BCBS retail store, one of the first of its kind, will offer insurance products and services to consumers in a new format. The store is part of an effort to make Floridians more informed consumers of health insurance and it will also offer educational seminars on health related issues. It’s an ok concept. Why have the expensive overhead for a store like this when you can just rely on independent agents for free? Seems like a waste of money.

Sounds like a winner to me. Are they hireing?

I think there are certain people out there that will definitely take advantage of this. Seems like a good concept.

Not a bold idea but 1000’s of shoppers can easily stop in and shop for health insurance obviously from BCBS only. Good advertising if nothing else.
