He stated that Dems favorable to the plan were seated first in the front rows and then others were let in. Many were shut out. The big burly guys policing this process were members of the Pipefitters Union. Draw your own conclusions. If hundreds shouted then they must have been from both sides. Ah, democracy at work. Polls show most people do want "reform" but the devil is in the details. Some of the Draconian measures proferred in HR 3200 have got people fearing the associated budget deficits and loss of their freedoms. I think that if it comes down to reform or loss of freedom the later should and will win out. Of course it would be helpful if a final negotiated piece of legislation was put in front of the American people for debate. Too bad that did not happen before the August recess.
