Florida Insurance For Student Athletes

How can student athletes get Florida Insurance policies? Have you thought about it lately? It’s an issue one might not even think about, but for highschool athletes, it could be a matter of great importance. Students playing football for their highschools in Florida can face the same serious injuries as professional athletes, but without the massive salary to repair them. Schools require that their athletes be covered under a parents’ policy or they must purchase on provided by the county. Unfortunately, counties differ in the quality of their health plans. For a student named Sierra in Broward County, a torn ACL may mean the end of a promising career. With parents who had no insurance, Sierra did the responsbile thing and purchased the best policy Broward County had to offer. Unfortunately, it is still not enough to cover the surgery required to repair his ACL. This leaves him literally walking around with a major injury, unable to play the game he loves, and perhaps ending a promising future in athletics before it had barely begun. What needs to be changed to prevent this story from happening to others? How can we protect our uninsured and underinsured children in general, be they athletes or not?
